JAKARTA, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo said on Tuesday that the government has singled out five industrial sectors for its industrial revolution drive, which would heavily utilize information technology mechanism.

Speaking in his remarks to open 2018 Indonesia Industrial Summit, the president said the targeted sectors to initiate the Industry 4.0 were food and beverage, textile, automotive, electronics and chemical.

"Those five industries were highly expected to bring significant benefits to our competitiveness as well as to our national economy towards the goal to be among the world's 10 largest economies by 2030," the president said.

He added through implementation of the national industrial revolution, those five industries would adopt more technological-based investment and create more jobs.

The government has also devised a roadmap or Making Indonesia 4.0 that includes proper implementation of the initiatives.

Among the initiatives was to train highly-skilled workers, particularly in mastering the latest high technologies in respective industry, he added.
