Dollar up to lower 109 yen zone on easing concerns over Italy

TOKYO, June 1 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar climbed to the lower 109 yen zone Friday in Tokyo on easing concerns over the political situation in Italy.

At 5 p.m., the dollar was quoted at 109.19-20 yen compared with 108.76-86 yen in New York and 108.76-77 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Thursday. It moved between 108.73 yen and 109.25 yen during the day.

The euro fetched 1.1683-1684 dollars and 127.57-61 yen against 1.1.1687-1697 dollars and 127.25-35 yen in New York and 1.1711-1712 dollars and 127.37-41 yen in Tokyo late Thursday afternoon.
