MEXICO CITY, April 17 (Xinhua) -- Juninho and Jordan Carrillo scored in each half as Pumas UNAM rose to second place in Mexico's Liga MX Clausura tournament with a 2-0 away win over San Luis on Friday.
The visitors went ahead when Juninho converted a penalty just before halftime after Robert Morales was brought down by Spanish defender Juanpe.
Carrillo doubled the lead by curling a free kick into the top-right corner three minutes from time.
The hosts controlled more than 50 percent of possession and had several chances to score, but were denied by a series of sharp saves from goalkeeper Keylor Navas.
Pumas is now second in the 18-team Clausura standings with 30 points from 15 games, a point behind leader Guadalajara, while San Luis is 15th, 15 points further back.
In Friday's only other Liga MX fixture, Mazatlan drew 1-1 at home to Queretaro. ■
