Singaporean stocks close 0.33 pct lower

SINGAPORE, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) closed down 0.33 percent or 11.71 points to close at 3489.45.

A total of 1.97 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.13 billion Singaporean dollars (about 847.4 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 217 to 192.
