MACAO, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Chief Executive of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Chui Sai On called for concerted efforts Saturday to create better conditions for young people in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, who could strive to achieve their dreams within this city cluster.

In his speech to open the Youth Forum on Jointly Building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Chui said he believed the city cluster initiative would serve as a new platform and bring unprecedented opportunities for young people's personal development.

The two-day forum attracts over 1,400 guests including delegates from the Greater Bay Area cities and youth representatives.

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area initiative involves a city cluster formed by the two special administrative regions, Hong Kong and Macao, and nine cities in Guangdong Province, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing.

Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council Zhang Xiaoming, in his speech, said enhancing the well-being of the people in the Greater Bay Area, particularly in terms of creating more opportunities for young people, was one of the intentions of the city cluster initiative.

Recent policies announced by the central government and the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao SARs had created a stronger framework for young people from Hong Kong and Macao to study, work, start a business and live in the mainland, he added.
