Cross-Strait cultural fair to be held in Xiamen

BEIJING, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) -- The 11th Cross-Strait cultural industries fair will be held in the port city of Xiamen in southeast China's Fujian Province from Nov. 2 to 5, a mainland spokesperson said Wednesday.

Ma Xiaoguang, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks at a press conference.

There will be nearly 3,500 booths displaying well-known cultural companies, crafts, creative design, digital content and tourism on the Chinese mainland and Taiwan, Ma said.

Nearly 1,000 Taiwan companies will take part in the event, the spokesperson said.

Ma described the fair as an important platform for cultural exchange and cooperation between the mainland and Taiwan since its launch in 2008.
