JAKARTA, Nov. 23 Xinhua) -- Six Indonesian badminton players are to compete in the forthcoming BWF World Tour Finals in China next month, association disclosed here on Friday.
The players include 2 men's singles, Tommy Sugiarto and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 2 men's doubles pairs, Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo/Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan, 1 women's doubles pair, Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu, and 1 mixed doubles pair Hafiz Faizal/Gloria Emanuella Widjaja, Indonesian badminton association revealed.
The association cited that the number of the Indonesian shuttlers going to the tournament was made based on the newly release of "Race to Guangzhou" rank published by the Badminton World Federation on Friday.
"Certainly we are very happy for entering the world tour final. The competitors are tough," said Ahsan.
The BWF World Tour Final is scheduled to be played in Guangzhou of China from December 12 to 16.
Only badminton players ranked in the top eight of the "race to Guangzhou" are allowed to compete in the BWF World Tour Finals 2018.
The tournament offers a total of 1.5 million U.S. dollars in prize.
