5.1-magnitude quake hits China's Taiwan -- USGS

NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted China's Taiwan at 15:15:40 GMT on Sunday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 21.4 km, was initially determined to be at 23.9978 degrees north latitude and 121.5661 degrees east longitude.
